Kelly's experiences as a person of color who has faced racial inequality pushes her even further to become a hero of the oppressed. This drug combined with the magical energy gives her 5th Dimensional powers that draw off the lifeforce of the patients afflicted by the magical energy. Rankin uses her position and privilege to get an experimental drug used on her that's meant to cure her of her afflictions.

People in the vicinity of the collapse get caught in the rubble and breathe in leftover particulates from Nyxly's magic-restoration machine, making them sick. Nyxly's destruction of the Ormfell apartment building did more harm than initially shown. The episode jumps back 24 hours to explain what's causing the trouble and show how Kelly gets involved.
